Why use NSWFHA for governance or management consultancies?

The Federation has made governance one of its key areas of expertise.  Three of our staff are graduates of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  We have undertaken research and developed leading edge guides on housing associations governance.

The Federation recognises that directors of community housing providers and other not for profits are operating in an increasingly complex environment. They are required to manage change and respond proactively to a range of internal and external demands.  We are experienced in working with boards and the full range of issues that emerge as boards change and organisations grow.

NSWFHA provides the expertise you need to assist you in a range of organisational issues. There have been significant regulatory changes in the sector in the past year, not least of which have been the additional demands of Performance Based Registration. We have worked widely with organisations to assist in addressing identified improvements and respond proactively to external concerns.

As the peak agency for community housing associations in NSW, the Federation is a preferred provider of consultancy services by a large number of housing associations.

A major benefit of contracting the Federation to assist your organisation with governance or management consultancies is the depth of experience and understanding of the community housing sector we bring to our work. We draw our experience from having worked for over fourteen years with the diversity of community housing providers across NSW.

We have developed resources which we can use specifically with community housing providers when facilitating strategic planning, risk management planning, asset management planning and financial analysis.

Our current consultancy staff has 30 years collective experience of working with community housing. We establish and maintain strong working relationships with other key stakeholders such as other peaks, Aboriginal housing, Housing NSW and the Community Housing Division so we can advocate on your behalf when required/requested. We understand the requirements of Registration and Accreditation.
