ABOUT THE COURSE

Overview

Housing Pathways is the way applications for housing assistance are managed in NSW. The Housing Pathways Framework provides coordinated information and advice using a single application and standard assessment process across all social housing organisations. It provides a common eligibility, prioritisation guidelines and allocation process and single waiting list.

 Learning Outcomes

• Understand how applications for housing assistance are managed through Housing Pathways.
• Understand the policies and procedures which guide the practice of implementing Housing Pathways.
• Complete common functions in HOMES.

• Understand how applications for housing assistance are managed through Housing Pathways.
• Understand the policies and procedures which guide the practice of implementing Housing Pathways.
• Complete systems steps in HOMES to allocate housing.
• Understand the policies and procedures for the allocation of housing.

Course Outline

• Day 1: Housing Pathways overview.
• Day 2: Getting started in Homes; assessing an application for assistance; managing change in circumstances.
• Day 3: Overview of offers; creating a property in HOMES; making an offer; using CM9 – ONETRIM; appeals.

Who Should Attend

• Frontline workers who manage applications of housing and have limited experience in this area.
• Frontline staff who would like to refresh their knowledge and skills.

Delivery Method

The course is delivered face to face over three days. If health restrictions exist, days one and three can be delivered online via Zoom, with day two booked and completed face to face when permitted.

Requirements

Participants must bring along a laptop with access to CITRIX including CHaP, HOMES & CM9-ONETRIM.
