Policy priorities
Our policy priorities reflect the needs of our members to ensure the industry’s growth. They are the policy changes that Federal, State, and Local governments need to make today, to ensure the viability of community housing in NSW tomorrow.

Industry development
CHIA NSW aims to provide services that help develop community housing in NSW. Through the provision of specialised data and survey services we inform our members of key industry trends. We also provide critical resources to drive new practices, standards and capacities across our industry.
Aboriginal resources
CHIA NSW is committed to listening and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We work directly in consultation with community housing providers, including those who specialise in Aboriginal housing, to ensure better outcomes for Aboriginal tenants in community housing across NSW.
Our industry is strong
The not-for-profit community housing industry has been a consistent investor in new rental housing, jobs, and economies. According to our latest member development survey, community housing providers have built social and affordable homes in nearly 50 Local Government Areas in NSW.
In 2012, community housing providers completed 68 homes. By 2023, community housing providers had completed more than 5,800 homes.
