CHIA NSW is committed to an equitable future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Aboriginal Staff Network – Listen, Learn and Action (LLA) brings together Aboriginal staff working across NSW community housing providers to create a culturally safe, sector-wide forum grounded in lived experience and professional practice. The Network exists to:
- Listen to Aboriginal staff voices, experiences and perspectives from across metropolitan, regional and remote contexts.
- Learn from those experiences to deepen sector understanding of cultural safety, workforce sustainability and service delivery impacts.
- Act by informing practical, systemic improvement across organisations, while recognising that implementation responsibility sits with individual CHPs, CHIA NSW, boards and executive leadership
The LLA Network supports sector leadership by providing informed, constructive input into policy development, workforce initiatives and capability-building activities, ensuring Aboriginal perspectives meaningfully influence decision-making rather than being considered as add-ons.
