Course Overview

Commonwealth Rent Assistance (CRA) is the way Community Housing Providers calculate rent subsidies for social housing properties, by using a single standard calculator to determine the assessable income of a tenant and their commonwealth rent assistance contributions.

  • Understand how to use the CRA Calculator.
  • Understand assessable and non-assessable income.
  • Learn how to complete a Rent Assistance Assessment.
  • Understand the NSW Community Housing Rent Policy.
  • Find out where to access the CRA manual for further information relating to the Calculator.
  • Half day session over 3-hours.

Frontline workers who manage rent subsidy calculations and have limited experience in this area.

This half-day course is delivered via an online Zoom workshop.

Julie Cleary is an experienced housing worker who has worked in social housing for over 12 years across various job roles including in the Housing Options Team, Affordable Housing Coordinator Housing Independence Office with Hume Housing. Julie is result oriented, customer driven, and quality focussed with a proven record in managing multiple functions and procedures to strive for strong customer service.
