The Big Housing Debate: Investing in our social and affordable housing future [ONLINE]

April 19 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

Join us online for The Big Housing Debate: Investing in our Social and Affordable Housing Future on Friday 19 April 2024.

Hosted by Link Wentworth and the Community Housing Industry Association NSW, the Big Housing Debate returns for the first time since the 2023 NSW State election, as our political, business and community leaders and decision-makers are faced with confronting the escalating housing crisis in Greater Sydney – and beyond.

In this second edition of the Big Housing Debate, our experts will explore and debate the opportunities and solutions available to the NSW Government to significantly increase social and affordable housing supply, leveraging the planning system to deliver targeted housing outcomes, and the critical importance of addressing the impacts of climate change for families living in social housing. It will also include a lived experience address from a Link Wentworth resident.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • The Hon. Rose Jackson, MLC, Minister for Housing and Homelessness
  • Rebecca Pinkstone, Chief Executive, Homes NSW
  • Andrew McAnulty, Chief Executive Officer, Link Wentworth
  • Marie Chase Sillars, Housing Advocate
  • Mark Degotardi, Chief Executive Officer, Community Housing Industry Association NSW
  • Nicky Morrison, Professor of Planning, Western Sydney University
  • Jeremy Gill, Head of Policy, Committee for Sydney
